It happens sometimes when I shoot a portrait session. The inspiration photos. Look at these - think you could do that? Recreate this pic? And I nod and say yeah, sure and then I do my thing. The photos end up completely different. Which is a good thing. Every session is unique. The photos end up being the photos of this particular client, something I can never recreate in the exact same way. And I don't want to. You can ask me to copy this and that, but in the end, your photos will be your photos. The moments will be your moments.
It's funny - I worked so hard at trying to copy others for a long time. Nothing wrong with copying others - I think it's a phase you need to go through in order to find yourself. But it gets tiresome after a while. Why would you want to imitate someone else? Do YOUR thing and kick ass. I'm not sure if I've found my voice, but at least I'm getting there. Slowly. The photo above is hardly edited at all. Basically straight out of the camera. I didn't even sharpen it.

I really love your work, and your breakfasts. You're very talented. I'm a bit jalous :)...
Så sant så sant. Jag gillar verkligen dina bilder förresten, om jag nån gång gifter mig eller blir gravid kommer jag nog att anlita dig för bilder ^^
Such a gorgeous picture.
As for imitating, I think it can be a great way to learn almost any technique (not just photography), but you're right, it gets tiring after a while.
You are awesome - don't ever change!
